The second contest sponsored by a football alum and friend of BGA will reward the winner with a $100 gift certificate to that iconic Hanover eating/drinking establishment, Canoe Club.
The question:
What time will show on the scoreboard clock when Dartmouth scores its first touchdown of the game against Penn?To enter the contest, send an email to guesstheattendance@gmail.com with the time you guess will be showing on the game clock when Dartmouth scores its first touchdown. One entry per email address.
It is not necessary to name the quarter in which the touchdown is scored. If Dartmouth fails to score a TD in the first quarter, guesses roll over to the second quarter, giving everyone a mulligan.
The contest will continue until the Big Green scores its first touchdown. Should Dartmouth not score a touchdown, the winner will be the entry closest to the time of the first Big Green points (field goal or safety). And if Dartmouth does not score at all, the winner will be the entry closest to the time of the first points of the game scored by Penn and the winner will be required to use the entire certificate at the bar. (I made that last part up.)
The winner of the $100 gift certificate to Pine Restaurant at Hanover Inn in the first NextTitle18 contest was Leo Appel, who had the closest guess to the attendance for the home opener against Central Connecticut State.
NextTitle18 will be back in two weeks with another contest in the run-up to the Homecoming game against Holy Cross.

When Dartmouth plays at Yale in Game 4 the Big Green will find itself preparing to play against a national offensive player of the week for the third time in four weeks. The latest honoree is Yale's Tyler Varga, chosen by The Sports Network for his play against Army. From the TSN report (LINK):Varga didn't just dominate in Yale's upset win over Army - the first victory for an Ivy League team over an FBS squad since 1986 - he decimated the Knights. The senior from Ontario carried the ball 28 times for 185 yards and a school-record five touchdowns, including the game-winning 3-yard score in overtime.
Central Connecticut State's Rob Hollomon and New Hampshire's Sean Goldrich were honored by The Sports Network previously. Goldrich ended up missing the Dartmouth game.

A little more than four years after the NCAA announced new rules “requiring each member institution to have a concussion management plan,” the Boston City Council approved further head trauma-oriented safety ordinances last week for individuals competing in NCAA events within city limits. The law is thought to be the first of its kind.
NCAA Division I schools in the vicinity impacted by the new legislation include Harvard, Boston College, Boston University, and Northeastern, as well as each school’s opponents at home games.More from the story:
While the newest set of rules may affect other area schools to a greater degree, they figure to make little-to-no difference for Harvard because of the strict policies the Ivy League already in place before the ordinance.
